Phillip Island has a unique racetrack, overlooking the ocean on undulating cliff tops. It is truly spectacular and home to not only the Australian MotoGP™, the international Grand Prix organisation’s motorcycle race, but holds numerous race events and classic car shows during the year.
This tourism campaign design, commissioned by the Bass Coast Shire for the 2023 MotoGP™, features the racetrack at its heart but is flexible enough to be rolled out for other complementary events. Flags were erected around the island and neighbouring towns, and promotional pieces included posters and cards to promote the Cowes entertainment precinct.
An exciting addition to the 2024 event is the "tell-all" map showing drinking areas, toilets, road closures and parking spots. There's even somewhere to go if you're feeling crook! Google Maps won't help you with any of this, you need good old fashioned handcrafted cartography.
